How Women Can Drive Year-Round Revenue for your Business or Organization.

Galentine’s Day may be here today and gone tomorrow, but the ability to engage women for community gatherings is just getting started for the year!
Hosting experiential activations isn’t just about a fun night out, it’s a smart revenue strategy that drives awareness, loyalty, and repeat purchase opportunities.
In fact, women-centered events double as community outreach and direct-to-market selling of products, services and offerings.
At Avanti Communications, we’ve seen the impact of women-focused event activations first-hand from our Galentine’s-themed events and other girl power experiences we’ve curated for local businesses, organizations, breweries, vineyards, and event venues across the state. These community-driven experiences drive measurable public relations wins, and lasting audience engagement.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
In 2025 alone, Americans spent $2.4 billion on gifts and celebrations for friends around Galentine’s Day. This demonstrates a broader trend: women are actively seeking opportunities to connect and gather.
Why Women-Focused Events Work
Women are often the planners and decision-makers behind household social calendars. They decide where friends and family gather, where celebrations happen, and which venues become part of their “go-to” rotation.
When women attend an event at a venue hosted by businesses and organizations they trust, they don’t just show up once — they remember, return, and recommend.
And for event venues or destinations in particular, one great activation can create a pipeline of future birthdays, showers, fundraisers, and annual traditions.

One of my favorite examples of this in action was an event we hosted with Thick-N-Thin Brewery in Hagerstown Maryland. At the time, they were still new to the area and focused on building consistent, repeat community traffic through regular programming.
Breweries are often seen as male-dominated spaces, so management wanted to intentionally create an experience that welcomed women and made them feel like the brewery was for them, too.
Together, we curated a Girl Boss Marketplace-style pop-up featuring women-owned vendors offering everything from permanent jewelry and curated gifts to plants and lifestyle goods. To bring the theme to life, we paired the shopping experience with Galentine’s-themed trivia, complete with rom-com moments, pop culture questions, and fun “for the girls” energy that kept guests engaged all night.
It wasn’t just an event—it was a strategic activation designed to introduce a new audience, build loyalty, and create a blueprint for repeatable revenue-driving experiences throughout the year.

We brought that same intentional approach to The Comus Inn in Dickerson, Maryland as well. Under new management from a team based in DC, they were navigating the challenge that so many legacy venues face during transitions: rebuilding trust with the local community and reminding longtime residents that this space still belonged to them.
To support that goal, we curated a smaller-scale version of the activation to fit their more intimate beer garden space located in the basement of the restaurant.
The focus remained the same: creating a welcoming, women-centered experience that felt both fun and meaningful. We hosted a Women in “Herstory” trivia night designed to celebrate female icons, history-makers, and cultural moments, drawing guests in through connection, community, and a reason to return.
Once again, it proved that these activations aren’t just themed nights, they’re powerful tools for relationship-building and long-term customer loyalty.
Missed Jumping on Galentine’s Day? Don’t Worry
There are plenty of upcoming opportunities to host events that celebrate, connect, and create buzz this year. Each of these occasions is a chance to build a loyal community of clients or customers starting with a whole lot of girl power:

The Public Relations (PR) Takeaway
PR is all about shaping perception, building credibility, and creating authentic connections between a brand and its audience. Event activations are one of the most powerful tools in that strategy because they put people in the room — creating experiences that are memorable, shareable, and newsworthy.
When a business or an organization hosts a thoughtfully curated, women-focused event it can generate storytelling content for media, social proof for your brand, and a tangible demonstration of your community presence.
